You don't need to use partedUtil. You can't delete the "Absent" disk, but you don't have to. In this case you know the drive is dead and won't return, and what you want to do is make sure you free up the capacity tier drives so that you can reuse them to build a new disk group with a new cache SSD. To do that, simply click on the capacity tier drives in the UI and hit the "Remove" button (note, if you are in "Automatic" claim mode at the cluster level then this button is hidden, so be sure to switch to Manual). This allows you to free up those drives and repurpose them, e.g. for a new disk group. Once all the capacity drives are freed up, the "Absent" SSD will automatically disappear. It was just shown in the UI so we could still represent the old disk group in a meaningful way. On the Lenovo web site I've also found info about a model that hasn't shipped yet, where the missing buttons are present. It's really weird that they didn't find this problem during QA.
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/thinkpad/thinkpad-helix-2nd-gen/larstrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05963794523825848062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-25361402780620919772014-11-04T00:32:25.012+01:002014-11-04T00:32:25.012+01:00Wow. I loved the 1920x1200 display. Worked well. Then I went to the W510 and they took away my 1920x1200 and left me with 1920x1080. I owned the W510 for nearly six months before I finally moved. I did not want to give up the screen real estate. Then came the W530 which was similar, better CPU but constant little issues with docking and startup. I just moved to a W540 and said that it could well be my last ThinkPad since it just seems cheaper and the TrackPoint is nearly useless with the wobble-pad button thing. My HP at work is better than this. With the W540, I will use the internal KB/TP as little as I can. And the new dock seems like a cheap piece of junk compared to the previous ones. The W540 hangs over a lot. It does not have a good way to position the laptop for docking. Just seems badly thought out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-31076638991338815882014-09-07T13:20:31.500+02:002014-09-07T13:20:31.500+02:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.albina N murohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08139646674252673476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-26035938082278947852014-04-16T22:41:02.360+02:002014-04-16T22:41:02.360+02:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14882171879978445750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-74691102345493192412014-03-19T07:39:47.531+01:002014-03-19T07:39:47.531+01:00Exporting syslog to the vcenter does not seem to a...Exporting syslog to the vcenter does not seem to affect this, only the network coredump settings.larstrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05963794523825848062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-22070603720751465892014-03-17T15:40:36.086+01:002014-03-17T15:40:36.086+01:00hey lars, this is not only happening to people wit...hey lars, this is not only happening to people with host profile compliance, but in a DRS and HA cluster as well.

is this also happening if you export your logs to a vcenter server? When you install the security server it creates an IPSEC tunnel to the connection server. The VMware Blast installation is done on the Connection server. This may sound a bit strange, but it will also automatically install the needed pieces on the security server through this tunnel.

Larslarstrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05963794523825848062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5670048373005177198.post-27570477592137979902013-11-10T21:42:30.604+01:002013-11-10T21:42:30.604+01:00We are receiving this error also during installati...We are receiving this error also during installation on a Security Server which is not a domain member. It is performance testing report targeted towards analysing the impact of desktops in various scenarios (Boot, Logons, Steady State, 2nd time Logons, Boot after maintenance etc.) on the Storage.

What was found in the exercise was that Desktop Sizing should not be based on just IOPS/desktop. Also the IO to the desktop is not all Random and it is not 80% Writes and 20% Reads in all scenarios. As per NetApp, there should an assessment done using tools like Liquidware labs to assess the right IO profile. IOPS/desktop is very misleading.
